St. Charles, IL(March 1, 2012) – System Sensor announced that its new SpectrAlert Advance Dual Strobe and Dual Strobe with Speaker Expander Plates can cut costs, simplify installation, and improve aesthetics for emergency communications system (ECS) and mass notification system (MNS) applications. These new plates enable installers to combine the functions of two to three devices on a single mounting plate and back box, lowering the overall cost of the installation while requiring fewer devices on the wall.

“These plates include all the same features and benefit as our SpectrAlert Advance products, including a plug-in design,” says Roopa Short, System Sensor marketing manager. “The plates are easy for one person to install – first, mount the plate to a junction box and connect the field wiring to the terminals. Then, hinge and attach the strobe or speaker strobe device with a captured mounting screw. That’s it.”

The expander plates include a UL 1638-Listed (Visual Signaling Appliances) amber lens strobe for Private Mode General Utility Signaling that meets Department of Defense (DoD) specification requirements. They can be used in 12- or 24-volt, systems and can be paired with a fire-rated SpectrAlert Advance strobe or speaker strobe.
