Oslo, Norway, -- January  31, 2014 - Zenitel AS, a global leader and supplier of the STENTOFON and VINGTOR brands of security and safety communication systems, is proud to announce their latest development in advanced IP Public Address and Alarm Systems - EXIGO.

Exigo, based on native IP technology, is an advanced, scalable system specifically designed to meet the demands and needs of PA and general alarms for a variety of applications and environments. The Exigo solution offers enhanced features and functionality, yet it's simplistic in installation and set-up for the Building and Site Security, Industry and Infrastructure markets. Applications include: Railroad and Metro; Schools and Universities; Airports; Manufacturing; Warehouse Facilities; or any application requiring PA and general announcements.

The system offers a set of standard and optional features that make Exigo an unparalleled IP Public Address System focusing on extreme robustness, networking, scalability, efficiency, and a superb system management programming tool. Exigo consists of a product range of System Controllers, Network Amplifiers, Line End Transponders, Call and Access Panels (indoor, industrial and Ex versions), Loud Speakers, Beacons and Network Infrastructure.

"In 2011, after extensive market research and industry analysis, we listened to what the market was saying and ventured into developing a sophisticated yet simplistic approach to Public Address and General Announcement needs. Initially produced for the extreme Marine, Offshore and Oil and Gas environments, we knew the market was demanding alternative onshore IP PA solutions," said Kenneth Dastol, CEO of Zenitel. "You'll find Exigo highly competitive with a full product line and features not seen elsewhere. Our goal is not only to provide high quality audio devices, but to now offer exceptional PA and general announcement solutions to support our customers' current and emerging needs."

Understanding Public Address over IP:

PA over IP refers to PA paging and intercom systems that use an IP network instead of a centralized amplifier to distribute the audio signal to paging locations across a building or campus, or anywhere else in the reach of the IP network (including the Internet). Network-attached amplifiers and intercom units are used to provide the communication function. At the receiving end, either specialized intercom modules (sometimes known as IP speakers) receive these network transmissions and reproduce the analog audio signal. Such systems are inter-connected by the networking infrastructure and thus allow loss-less transmission to remote locations across the Internet or a local area or campus network. It is also possible to provide for multiple or relocatable transmission control stations on such a network.
