New version supports 64-bit platforms and operating systems

PORTLAND, Ore. — August 29, 2006 — Tripwire, Inc., the world leader in change auditing software, today announced the latest version of Tripwire for Servers and Tripwire Manager.  Tripwire has expanded the breadth and depth of platforms supported to ensure that IT organizations are able to control change on new platforms, helping them simultaneously fulfill their IT security, quality of service and compliance needs.

Now supporting 64-bit platforms and operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 and 4, SUSE Enterprise Linux Server 9, HP-UX 11i v2 for PA RISC, and Windows 2003 Enterprise Server x64 Edition, Tripwire for Servers version 4.7, coupled with Tripwire Manager, detects, pinpoints, and reports on changes, enabling IT staff to determine what changed, when it changed, how it changed, and who changed it. This change detection information enables IT to detect unplanned change to help satisfy compliance directives for maintaining system integrity and tracking changes from a baseline.

“As the pressure on IT mounts to simultaneously deliver security, pass audits and provide consistent quality of IT service, we increasingly hear organizations ask how they can make the biggest impact with their investments,” said Scott Crawford, senior analyst at Enterprise Management Associates. “The best practices of highly efficient IT organizations reveal that effective change and configuration management leads to benefits that ripple throughout IT, helping the organization better manage IT security, service downtime and compliance risk.”

A proven change monitoring and analysis solution ideal for small to mid-size organizations, Tripwire for Servers addresses compliance requirements by operating independently and providing an unbiased accounting of change activity and policy exceptions. Tripwire does so by detecting all file system changes, reconciling detected changes with authorized changes to expose unauthorized change, and reporting on change activity and policy exceptions. Tripwire for Servers provides broad coverage of OS platforms, detailed reporting, and centralized server management.

“Tripwire is dedicated to meeting the needs of its clients, from answering distinct compliance and security concerns to helping ensure the availability and predictability of IT systems,” said Tripwire CEO, Jim Johnson. “Enforcing the IT change policy by automating the detection, reconciliation and reporting of all changes is critical to IT success.”
