Kevin Gaylord named CEO of Safestreets USA
KENT, WA, Dec. 16, 2016 – SafestreetsUSA today announced the retirement of three executives, among other upcoming changes, on the company’s leadership team. Barry Simmons, Todd Herman and Mike Robson will retire and transition into positions on the newly formed Advisory Committee. The trio founded SafestreetsUSA, ADT’s largest authorized dealer, when they successfully merged their established dealerships back in 2008. In preparation for the transition, the company merged with both Gaylord Security and ASC, solidifying Safestreets’ number one dealership ranking, while also providing Safe Streets with a national footprint and the leadership needed to make the transition.
In addition to the retirements, there are several Executive Leadership Team changes that will begin to transition on January 1, 2017.
Curtiss Weinstein will move into the president position. Curtiss joined SafeStreets in 2015. He began his career as an ADT Authorized Dealer in 1998 after serving in the United States Air Force for seven years.
Mark Sessa will fill the chief business development officer role. Mark joined SafeStreets earlier this year after the merger between SafeStreets, Gaylord Security, and his company, ASC Security.
Scott MacArthur will move from his current role as chief operating officer to chief financial officer. Scott joined SafeStreets in June 2012. Scott has spent many years in public accounting and various financial positions, including four years as chief financial officer of ADT.
Kevin Gaylord will serve as the chief executive officer. “I am very excited for the opportunity to lead this great company. We have succeeded in forming a diverse leadership team that combines more than 50 years of experience within the ADT Dealership world,” said Gaylord. “The timing couldn't be better as ADT and Protection 1 join forces. Under new ADT CEO Tim Whall’s leadership, we have been impressed with the company’s renewed focus on the Customer, which has always been the driving force at SafeStreets.”
ADT Chief Operation Officer Jim DeVries echoed the feelings of Gaylord. “Our business relationship with SafeStreetsUSA has spanned more than 20 years, and we could not be prouder of their illustrious achievements as an Authorized Dealer. While we celebrate the past, we are also excited to welcome the new leadership group of SafeStreets with whom we have the utmost confidence will take Safe Streets to even greater accomplishments.”
Simmons had these words of support and encouragement for SafeStreets as he exits his role:
“The new Executive Leadership Team of Safe Streets USA provides everything the previous ownership group could possibly hope for when it comes to turning over the business we spent twenty plus years building. They have a wealth of experience in the industry and with the ADT Authorized Dealer program. They have a diverse skill set within the group, which lends itself to a balanced approach to business development and operational efficiencies. And finally, they have great chemistry amongst themselves built on a mutual respect for their individual accomplishments. The company is truly in good hands and poised for continued growth and success.”
