Investment firm Knox Lane has acquired a majority stake in SAGE Integration Holdings, a national security systems integrator serving enterprise customers.

The companies announced the transaction Sept. 9. Financial terms were not disclosed.

SAGE provides security system design, retrofit, installation and maintenance services, with a presence in regulated markets. The company works with enterprise customers to integrate security technologies while providing ongoing support.

Under the partnership, SAGE plans to invest in talent, expand business development and commercial initiatives, deploy technology across its operations and pursue strategic acquisitions. The company also plans to focus on improving operational efficiencies as it continues to expand.

Eric Frasier, CEO of SAGE Integration, said the partnership comes as customer demand for integrated security solutions continues to grow.

“We are incredibly proud of what we have built and how we’ve helped move the industry forward at SAGE,” Frasier said.

Frasier said Knox Lane brings experience and capabilities that align with SAGE’s plans to scale its business.

Knox Lane Managing Partner John Bailey and Partner Shamik Patel pointed to SAGE’s organic growth and established customer relationships as factors behind the investment. The firm plans to work with SAGE management on a growth strategy that includes expanding the company’s existing platform.

Bailey and Patel said Knox Lane’s experience working with technician-led businesses in facility services will also factor into its work with SAGE.

The Knox Lane investment follows a period of expansion for SAGE. In August, the integrator acquired Vital Installs and sudoVision Consulting, adding expertise in low-voltage systems, infrastructure and technology applications while expanding its national delivery platform.

SAGE also has been building toward a more recurring-revenue and technology-driven business model. In an April 2026 Security Business feature on the integrator of 2030, SAGE COO John Nemerofsky said recurring monthly revenue was approaching 30% of the company’s business and continuing to grow. He also described how SAGE was using its internal Sage AI system for RFP responses, client playbooks and automated reporting.

Founded in 1988, SAGE Integration provides security integration services to enterprise clients across the United States. Its services are focused on protecting people, facilities and business operations through integrated security technology.

Knox Lane is a San Francisco-based investment firm that works with companies on areas including business development, technology, operations and acquisitions.

Benesch Friedlander Coplan & Aronoff LLP served as legal counsel to SAGE and its shareholders. William Blair and Stifel served as financial advisors to Knox Lane, while Kirkland & Ellis LLP served as Knox Lane’s legal counsel.
