The DoorKing Model 1620 Lane Barrier System is ideal in applications where a higher degree of vehicle traffic control is desired, but without the expense of deep excavation that is typically required for the installation of bollards, wedges or crash beams.

The 1620 can be surface mounted, making in an ideal choice for installation in multi-level parking garages, apartment communities, gated condominiums, parking lots and toll booths. The lane barrier uses a simple counter-balanced mechanical linkage to the companion 1603-580 operator. This counter-balanced system eliminates the need for hydraulics making the system environmentally friendly.

The system is fast acting, raising the steel barrier in approximately 2.5 seconds. LEDs and a signal light remain red until the steel barrier is in the full down position and the signal arm is in the full up position, at which time the LEDs turn to green for safe passage.

The barrier system consist of heavy-duty steel anchorages mounted on each side of the traffic lane and a steel barrier with a nylon strap rated at 22,000 lbs. holding force imbedded within it. This Lane Barrier System is not crash rated. It is intended to provide a formidable barrier to help prevent passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks from driving through a controlled traffic lane at speeds up to 20 mph.
