PureTech Systems and Clear Align Partner on U.S. Air Force Tactical Security System Contract
PureTech Systems has partnered with Clear Align to support the U.S. Air Force in developing a rapidly deployable perimeter security solution under the Tactical Security System (TSS) program.
The effort is part of a seven-year, $199 million contract aimed at strengthening base and perimeter defense for forward-deployed airfields, installations, and emergency missions worldwide. The contract, secured by Clear Align from the USAF in June 2025, provides for a “modular, scalable, tailorable, lightweight, rapidly deployable, ground-based tactical security and surveillance capability using electro-optical and motion sensors at remote deployment locations.”
An integrated platform
The TSS will be designed to secure bases and perimeters in hostile or underdeveloped regions by monitoring sensitive areas and providing real-time situational awareness to operators.
Clear Align, which specializes in AI-enabled, network-connected EO/IR (electro-optical/infrared) imaging systems, will contribute several technology integrations to the project, including thermal and infrared cameras, autonomous command-and-control, radar, perimeter sensors, and more.
PureTech’s inclusion in the project brings autonomous threat detection, classification, and tracking to its list of capabilities. With it, the system can trigger automated threat responses or alert operators for manual response. Trackable objects include humans, vehicles, watercraft, and unmanned aerial systems (UAS).
Forward deployment with ATAK
The system’s open architecture command-and-control platform is built to manage multiple deployed sensors for full situational awareness.
This capability is extended further into the field with Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) integration. Integrating ATAK, a collaborative mapping software suite, enables the delivery of live intelligence and alerts directly to mobile devices for distributed personnel.
“This program demonstrates the Air Force’s commitment to leveraging the latest in AI, autonomy, and integrated command-and-control to protect personnel and assets in any environment,” said Larry Bowe, President & CEO at PureTech Systems. “We’re proud that our technology will play a central role in delivering situational awareness and operational agility to the mission.”
Production will take place at Clear Align's Nashua, New Hampshire, facility and is expected to complete in June 2032.
