Observation Without Limits (O.W.L.) will showcase its recently launched Athena-MDR Drone Verification Radar at ISC East 2026 while also highlighting upgrades to two of its GroundAware radar systems for drone and perimeter detection.

The U.S.-based manufacturer of 2D and 3D radar systems will exhibit at booth #1040 during the Nov. 4-5 event at New York's Javits Center.

According to O.W.L., Athena-MDR is a micro-Doppler radar that serves as a confirmation sensor within an integrated drone detection solution. The company's 3D surveillance radars provide long-range tracking before directing Athena-MDR to lock onto an air target and verify the presence of a drone.

CEO Adam Robinett said the system is designed to verify drones in critical airspace at long ranges, including small consumer quadcopters beyond 2 kilometers. He added that the radar is intended to operate regardless of weather, lighting conditions or the presence of an RF signal or Remote ID.

Athena-MDR also includes a 4K camera for visual drone tracking and is designed to integrate with higher-powered camera systems. O.W.L. said the radar can track drones even while they are hovering by detecting the motion of their rotary blades through its micro-Doppler capabilities.

During the event, the company will also emphasize drone and perimeter detection for airports, data centers, utilities, water treatment plants, sports venues, college campuses, government and military installations and other high-risk sites.

Robinett said situational awareness is essential for security officials, law enforcement and venue operators protecting facilities, events and the public. He said O.W.L.'s radar and integrated surveillance systems are intended to help detect unauthorized drone and human activity while providing awareness of potential safety and security threats.

O.W.L. will also feature upgrades to its GroundAware GA1360LH Short-Range 2D 360-Degree Radar System and GA7360LR Extended Mid-Range 360-Degree Radar System.

The upgraded GA1360LH offers target classification capabilities that distinguish between humans, animals and ground and water vehicles. The company said the radar provides automated detection, tracking, deterrence and response to intrusions within a 1-kilometer radius, covering up to 750 acres, or 300 hectares, with a single radar while reducing the number of required sensors and supporting lower infrastructure costs.

The upgraded GA7360LR is designed for a range of airspace situational awareness applications including basic drone detection, counter-UAS operations and beyond visual line of sight use cases. O.W.L. said the system improves target tracking accuracy and consistency while using a single 360-degree radar instead of multiple radar panels.

According to the company, the GA7360LR can detect a Cessna 172 at 7 kilometers and a Group 1 drone at 2.5 kilometers. The system also supports extended-range ground and water surface surveillance while reducing mounting, power and network infrastructure requirements.
