When Don Young recently joined Everon as CEO, the company had already established itself as a major integrator and solutions provider for the security industry. As one of the largest security companies in the U.S., capitalizing on Everon’s forward momentum during a time of great technological advancement is no small task.
In this exclusive SecurityDNA interview, Young sits down with SecurityInfoWatch Editor-in-Chief Rodney Bosch to discuss his early priorities as CEO, his 90-day roadmap, industry trends that made waves (or fell flat), selecting a successful mentor and much more.
Everon CEO Don Young
Young succeeded Tim Whall as CEO of Everon in June, but his security industry journey began in 1988 with the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a Computer Programmer Analyst for four years. He has held several executive and C-suite leadership roles across multiple security providers, including SecurityLink, HSM, Protection 1 and ADT, where he most recently was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
He is actively involved in shaping the security industry, previously as President of The Monitoring Association (TMA) from 2019 to 2021 and currently as a member of the Security Industry Association's (SIA) Board of Directors. In 2013, Young co-founded the Partnership for Priority Verified Alarm Response (PPVAR) and was its first President until 2015.
