The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named John E. Mack III, managing director and co-head of security and safety investment banking at Raymond James, as the 2026 recipient of the George R. Lippert Memorial Award.
The annual award recognizes individuals for their long-term service and contributions to SIA and the security industry. Mack will receive the honor during the Securing New Ground conference, scheduled for Oct. 20-21 at the New York Marriott Marquis in New York City.
Mack joined Raymond James in 2025 after serving as co-head of investment banking and head of the security sector investment banking practice at Imperial Capital. Earlier in his career, he founded and served as CEO of USBX, a Los Angeles-based investment bank. He also served as CEO and a board member of Protection One.
A longtime SIA member, Mack conceived the association's Endowment Program and served as its founding chair. The program supports initiatives focused on industry growth, expansion and innovation. Mack has also served on SIA's board of directors and Executive Committee and as the association's treasurer.
His involvement with SIA has included sponsoring Securing New Ground and the SIA Executive Reception at ISC West, supporting industry research initiatives and regularly speaking at Securing New Ground.
Mack also founded the Security Investor Conference while at USBX 23 years ago. The event, now held at Raymond James, focuses on connecting the security industry with the investment community.
“I’m grateful for this award and truly honored by this recognition from SIA, which has done so much for the industry,” Mack said. “I am happy to have been involved as a board member, founding chair of the Endowment Committee and an active volunteer.”
Mack also cited the SIA Endowment's support for talent development, industry-specific programs, startups, school security and initiatives benefiting women and veterans in security.
SIA Board of Directors Chair Mike Mathes credited Mack with strengthening connections between the security and investment communities and helping establish the association's endowment fund.
“John Mack has spent decades helping our industry grow while giving generously of his time and expertise to SIA,” Mathes said.
The award is named for George R. Lippert, who devoted more than 20 years to SIA and the security industry. Recipients are evaluated based on their longstanding service, contributions to the association and industry and demonstrated integrity, leadership and diplomacy.
In addition to presenting the Lippert Award, SIA will recognize its 2026 25 on the RISE Awards honorees during Securing New Ground.
The conference will feature discussions on security industry leadership, the state of the systems integration business, emerging technologies and investment trends.
