NORFOLK - An unruly student assaulted a security guard early Friday at Maury High School, police said.

The guard was called to remove the student, a 16-year-old ninth-grader, from class because the student was being disruptive. The student became combative, said Officer Chris Amos, a police spokesman.

The guard was not injured and later sought to have a magistrate charge the student with assault, Amos said. Further details were not available.
