Platinum Tools has launched the 746B, an IP68-rated weatherproof patch and splicing enclosure designed for use in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
The enclosure features an all-plastic housing made from an ABS and polycarbonate (PC) blend with UV inhibitors. According to Sean Rothermel, Platinum Tools product manager, the housing is intended to support long service life in outdoor conditions and industrial environments.
“The 746B’s all-plastic housing is made from an ABS and poly-carbonate (PC) blend with UV inhibitors to ensure a long service life in a variety of outdoor conditions and industrial environments,” Rothermel said. “It will allow you to reliably splice, repair, and extend cables indoors and outdoors by supporting direct burial, exposure to water, and exposure to UV.”
The 746B supports fiber, twisted pair, coaxial and other low voltage cables. It includes a removable internal fiber tray for splicing and supports standard fiber adapters, fiber couplers, keystones and barrel-style couplers.
The enclosure also includes hardware for pole, cable and surface mounting. It can be installed through underground burial, pole mounting, wall mounting or wire suspension.
The 746B is now shipping. More information can be found on the Platinum Tools website.
