Company official says common protocol important for growth of PSIM, VMS market

ATLANTA, Nov. 3, 2009 - IPVideo Corporation, a manufacturer of video management software and physical security information management systems, announced Monday that they have joined the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF).

ONVIF was founded by video companies Axis, Bosch and Sony in 2008 to develop a global open standard for the network interface of network video products.

According to Paul Galburt, vice president of development at IPVideo, the development of a common protocol is important for the growth of the PSIM market, which is one of the reasons the company decided to join ONVIF.

“We have been committed to open standards for over a decade and organizations such as ONVIF help ensure that IPVideo’s VMS and PSIM products will continue to lead the industry with support for a broad list of leading IP surveillance components and solutions,” he said.
