MangoDSP and ObjectVideo Partner for Integrated Intelligent Video Surveillance Platforms
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- MangoDSP Inc., a leading provider of digital signal processor (DSP) based video processing platforms, and ObjectVideo, Inc., the leader in intelligent video surveillance software, today announced a partnership to provide intelligent integrated video platforms for surveillance OEMs and integrators.
MangoDSP's line of video processing platforms, ranging from single to 16 camera solutions, now support ObjectVideo Onboard(TM), ObjectVideo's DSP-based video analysis software product. The combined technologies will allow OEMs and integrators to create a full range of surveillance products with intelligent video analytics built in, including intelligent DVRs, mobile DVRs, video servers and IP cameras. These platforms will not only be able to capture and compress video for storage or streaming, but also analyze the video for security breaches and other unwanted occurrences, such as intruders or object thefts and generate real-time alerts.
At the core of ObjectVideo OnBoard technology is the Texas Instruments TMS320DM64x DSP-based digital media processor which runs ObjectVideo's video analysis algorithms as well as video and audio compression, such as MPEG4 or H.264. This allows for the creation of compact, cost effective solutions that fit into a surveillance camera chassis or process up to 16 cameras on a single PCI card.
ObjectVideo's intelligent video analysis algorithms, based on artificial intelligence called "computer vision," run all objects in a camera's view against pre-programmed rules. When an object violates a rule, for example, a person crosses a tripwire or an object disappears from an area of interest, the software alerts security personnel by phone, pager, email or an alert console. Customers of ObjectVideo's technology include the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection Bureau, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force, the Department of Energy, the Port of Jacksonville, Port of Everglades, Miami International Airport and a variety of private sector businesses.
"ObjectVideo's industry leading video analysis tools enable MangoDSP to produce the most complete surveillance platform on the market. This cooperation will allow any OEM or integrator to produce a customized private label product line without the need to design hardware and integrate the system," says Joel Rotem, Director of Technical Sales at MangoDSP.
"ObjectVideo OnBoard makes intelligent video surveillance capabilities available for OEM's security system edge devices, such as cameras, more readily available to the mass market," said Alan Lipton, Chief Technology Officer of ObjectVideo. "Working with MangoDSP enables ObjectVideo to make available reference and production-ready board designs to our OEM partners who are looking to build ObjectVideo OnBoard technology in their devices."
"TI's DSP-based digital media processors have been widely adopted for video security applications because of their ability to manage the intelligent video analysis and compression on a single chip," said Yvonne Cager, worldwide DSP video solutions manager, TI. "We are excited that MangoDSP is leveraging the ObjectVideo OnBoard technology to deploy state-of-the-art video processing platforms that have been optimized for video surveillance end equipments."
