Verkada Rolls Out Smart Deterrence System That Adapts Over Time

ISC West Booth 18033: Verkada’s new AI-powered security system detects unauthorized behavior and responds with context-aware messages that escalate over time to stop loitering, theft, and vandalism.

Verkada has unveiled a new AI-powered deterrence feature that leverages the latest large vision, audio and language models to enhance video security systems. The technology analyzes footage from cameras to detect unauthorized behavior such as loitering and automatically triggers AI-generated messages. These messages incorporate scene context, including descriptions of a person's clothing or location, and escalate deterrence measures over time if the individual remains on site.

The system can also change the voice for each deterrence incident to increase effectiveness against repeat offenders. According to Verkada, this approach allows car dealerships to deter catalytic converter theft, schools to prevent graffiti vandalism and businesses to protect outdoor assets – all without triggering unnecessary alarms.
