HavenLock has appointed John Heller as chief commercial officer as the Nashville-based security technology company moves forward with the commercial launch of its Haven Gen4 intelligent locking platform and expands its national dealer, distributor and strategic partner network.
Heller joins the company with more than three decades of leadership experience across technology, manufacturing and distribution businesses. He is also a retired U.S. Army colonel and Army aviator who served for 28 years.
As chief commercial officer, Heller will oversee HavenLock’s commercial strategy, including sales, marketing, channel development, customer success, strategic partnerships, revenue operations and commercial execution.
Most recently, Heller served as chief operating officer of HeroWear, a venture-backed technology company, where he led finance, sales, manufacturing, operations and human resources. During his tenure, the company increased direct product revenue by more than 400%, improved gross margins to greater than 85% and closed a $5.5 million Series A financing.
Heller previously spent eight years with Keurig Green Mountain in executive leadership roles spanning finance, operations, logistics and supply chain. During that period, the company’s annual revenue grew from $135 million to more than $4 billion. His responsibilities included financial planning, manufacturing, procurement, inventory management, distribution, transportation, customer fulfillment and sales operations.
“John has repeatedly demonstrated the ability to build organizations that can scale,” said Alex Bertelli, founder and CEO of HavenLock. “From helping lead Keurig through one of the most remarkable periods of revenue growth in our industry to building commercial and operational capabilities for venture-backed technology companies, he understands what it takes to transform innovation into market leadership.”
Bertelli said Heller’s experience leading cross-functional teams, developing employees and executing growth strategies will support HavenLock as it expands the Haven Gen4 platform across North America.
Heller said the company’s Gen4 platform and its approach to commercial access control were factors in his decision to join HavenLock.
“The Haven Gen4 platform represents a significant advancement in commercial access control by combining exceptional life safety, simplified installation and seamless integration with leading security platforms,” Heller said. “HavenLock has assembled an outstanding team, a differentiated product and a tremendous market opportunity.”
Heller is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a Master of Supply Chain Management from Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business. He is a certified public accountant and previously served as an associate professor at West Point, where he taught economics, finance and accounting.
HavenLock is a veteran-owned security technology company based in Nashville. The company develops physical security systems for schools, commercial real estate and defense applications. Its Haven Gen4 intelligent locking platform is designed for everyday access and emergency lockdown applications.
