Suprema has introduced BioStation 3 Max, a new flagship biometric access control terminal designed to support identity-first security strategies with multiple authentication options and hardened cybersecurity protections.

The company said the terminal combines facial recognition and fingerprint biometrics with RFID, mobile credentials, QR codes and PIN authentication on a single platform aimed at environments ranging from corporate offices to high-security facilities.

According to Suprema, BioStation 3 Max uses the company’s latest AI engine running on a dedicated neural processing unit to deliver facial matching in less than 0.3 seconds, including for individuals in motion. The device includes dual 2MP visual and infrared cameras designed to support liveness detection and anti-spoofing capabilities against printed photos, replay videos and 3D masks.

The terminal supports up to 100,000 enrolled users and is equipped with a 7-inch IPS touchscreen for authentication prompts, visitor messaging and face-positioning guidance. Suprema also integrated a built-in VoIP intercom with SIP support to allow visitors to communicate directly with reception personnel.

Suprema emphasized the platform’s security architecture, which includes a hardened Linux operating system with Secure Boot functionality, a CC EAL6+ certified secure element for credential and key protection, encrypted biometric templates and TLS-secured device communications. The system also supports Template-on-Mobile and Template-on-Card options, allowing biometric data to remain stored on a user’s mobile device or smart card instead of centralized servers.

The company said the terminal carries IP65 and IK06 ratings for protection against dust, water and impact in indoor and outdoor deployments. BioStation 3 Max also supports speed-gate and wall-mounted installations, with PoE+ available on select models.
