NAPCO Security Technologies, Inc. has announced a major update to its NAPCO Prima Self-Contained Smart Security System and existing mobile app, introducing a redesigned experience for customers managing their Prima security and smart home systems.
Available beginning Sept. 3 through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, the Prima v8 app features a modernized interface, redesigned navigation and performance improvements. Core functions including arming, device control and account management have been rebuilt to provide a faster and more reliable user experience.
The update includes redesigned security controls with clearer entry and exit countdowns, alarm details and sensor status information. Enhanced controls also provide easier management of connected lights, locks, garage doors, water valves and thermostats.
Prima v8 also expands activity and notification controls, giving users greater control over push, email and SMS alerts. The update includes improved account management and biometric authentication as well as a new Apple Watch companion app that allows customers to arm and disarm their Prima system from their wrist.
Additional performance enhancements are designed to improve app stability, responsiveness and network security.
“Prima v8 represents a major step forward in the overall Prima user experience. With a more intuitive interface, faster performance and enhanced control, this update makes it even easier for customers to stay connected to and manage their security system every day,” said Jim Pless, Director of Sales, Security & Smart Home.
Existing Prima users do not need a new app or system setup. Customers can update their existing NAPCO Prima app, with their credentials, system configurations and device pairings carrying over automatically without requiring re-pairing.
NAPCO said Prima Self-Contained Smart Security Systems are also designed for multi-dwelling unit applications. The systems require no prewiring for installation and provide system demonstration and management capabilities for building and property managers.
Prima's self-healing Wi-Fi connectivity is designed to help maintain reliable system connections while reducing unnecessary service calls and truck rolls.
The NAPCO Prima v8 update is available beginning Sept. 3. NAPCO is also showcasing the latest Prima enhancements at GSX in NAPCO Booth #1919.
