BURLINGTON, Mass. -- Everbridge, Inc., a critical event management (CEM) and national public warning software solutions company, today announced that Glendale, Arizona has become the latest U.S. city to launch the Everbridge Mass Notification platform to safeguard residents and visitors during emergencies and large-scale events.

Home to State Farm Stadium, which regularly hosts many of the country’s largest sporting and entertainment events, Glendale is a major destination for large events and attractions, including the 280,000 visitors who attend Glendale’s downtown festivals annually.

“We have a commitment to ensure public safety, community awareness, and emergency response,” said Nicole Munson, Glendale Emergency Manager. “This new system, powered by Everbridge, enables us to provide our citizens with critical information as swiftly and reliably as possible.”

Glendale selected Everbridge as the public alerting service provider for its City of Glendale Community Alert Program. The Everbridge platform sends messages via text, email, mobile app, voice calls, TTY/TDD, and social media, among other communications channels, for reaching the public. Everbridge also allows for targeted messaging that can either be sent citywide or solely to areas directly affected by a particular event.

Glendale also chose to enhance its mass notification capabilities with Everbridge Resident Connection, which further enables the city to target potentially life-saving communications to impacted areas by simply drawing geo-fenced shapes on a map, allowing public safety officials to quickly and accurately reach the largest number of people in those zones. Recipients may include the most vulnerable and often underserved populations, such as residents with special needs; dependence on supplemental oxygen or medications; cognitive, visual, or hearing impairment; and those lacking Internet access.

“Many of the largest cities across the United States and around the world trust Everbridge to deliver the most advanced population alerting technology available today,” said Brian Toolan, Vice President of Public Safety at Everbridge. “We are delighted to partner with the City of Glendale to help ensure their continued preparedness to keep residents and visitors safe and informed.”

In addition to Glendale, Everbridge customers in Arizona include several hospitals, schools, airports, and enterprises, as well as state and local government clients such as the cities of Tempe, Phoenix, and Tucson, and the counties of Apache, Maricopa, Navajo, and Pima.
