Malice to replace John D. Know on board

FRISCO, Texas (July 11, 2012) – The Security Industry Alarm Coalition (SIAC) announced today that the Electronic Security Association (ESA) has appointed Maria Malice as its representative to the SIAC Board of Directors. Malice will replace John D. Knox who has served on the SIAC board for the past six years and recently became president of ESA.

“We are very excited to have Maria join the SIAC Board of Directors,” stated Stan Martin, SIAC Executive Director. “Maria and her employer, COPS Monitoring , have demonstrated a real commitment to our industry and the customers we protect.”
Maria serves as Vice President of Special Projects for COPS Monitoring based in Scottsdale, Arizona. She is currently the President of the Arizona Alarm Association, where she has served as a board member since 1992.

“I have known and worked with Maria for many years,” said Knox. “She is an innovative leader and tireless worker who has worked successfully in collaboration with our largest members and smaller independent alarm companies.”

“Maria’s work in Arizona, such as implementation of our model ordinance in numerous local agencies as well as other innovative programs, has led to dramatic decreases in unnecessary calls for service while preserving police response and building strong relationships with law enforcement,” said Martin. “There remains much work to do and there is no doubt Maria is up to the challenge.”

“We want to thank John for his service on the board,” said Martin. “He has been and continues to be a visionary leader in our industry and we look forward to continuing to work closely with John at ESA.”
