D-Tools Launches Native SI Mobile Install App for Field Installation and Service Teams

The new D-Tools SI Mobile Install App provides field technicians with mobile access to service orders, schedules, project details and offline workflow capabilities.
D-Tools has announced the availability of the D-Tools SI Mobile Install App, a new native mobile companion application for the company’s System Integrator (SI) platform designed for installation and service professionals working in the field.
Available for iOS and Android devices through the Apple App Store and Google Play, the SI Mobile Install App provides technicians with real-time access to service orders, tasks, schedules, project details and site documentation directly from mobile devices. According to D-Tools, the app is intended to help teams remain productive, connected and accountable while working remotely or on-site.
One of the major additions in the native mobile app is expanded offline functionality. Technicians can continue working when internet access is unavailable by viewing assigned tasks and service orders in read-only mode offline and creating time sheets that automatically sync once connectivity returns.
The SI Mobile Install App is designed for technicians, installers, maintenance professionals, field service teams and project managers who require mobile access to service and project information. D-Tools said the app mirrors the functionality of the existing SI Mobile Install web interface while adding the performance and convenience of a native mobile application.
Key features of the app include a dashboard overview for daily assignments and pending work, task management tools, calendar scheduling views and mobile access to service orders. Technicians can also capture installed equipment details including serial numbers, MAC addresses and site item information directly from the field.
Additional functionality includes barcode scanning using a device camera, photo capture for attaching images to service orders and site notes and support for file uploads up to 300MB for drawings, project documents and media files.
The app also supports mobile time sheet management with custom fields and chronological exports, along with site notes for documenting observations and instructions from job locations.
D-Tools said push notifications for assignment updates, scheduling changes and task activity are planned for a future release. The app also includes enterprise-grade authentication designed to protect customer and project data.
The D-Tools SI Mobile Install App is available now through the Apple App Store and Google Play. Current D-Tools System Integrator subscribers and customers with an active Software Assurance agreement receive one Mobile Install resource for each SI license purchased. Additional Mobile Install licenses are available for a monthly per-user fee.
