December 28, 2020, Long Grove, IL — Hart Alarm of Albany, NY, a 47-year-old second generation company, has sold its alarm business to Doyle Security Systems of Rochester, NY. Doyle has been in business since 1919.

Hart Alarm has been directed by the founder Jim Hart’s siblings, Steve, Susan and Ken. According top a press release, they decided to sell the company but remain active in it. To do so, they enlisted Davis Mergers and Acquisitions Group (DMAG, aka, “The Graybeards”).

Doyle Security Systems purchased Hart in late December and is now working with Hart’s employees to integrate all its operational systems. “This is truly a great match for us. Hart has been run successfully for years. They just needed financial support and the expertise to grow and give its employees more opportunities," John Doyle said in the statement.

“The Doyle Security Systems group is just what we needed," added Steve Hart. "Now all our employees will have the opportunity to grow within a larger, very well-run organization. The timing for our family was right.”

Doyle also welcomed security alarm customers from Austin Locksmithing & Security, Inc, based in Olean, NY. Founded in 1972, Austin provided commercial and residential security services and locksmithing to Olean, Cattaraugus, Allegany, McKean and Potter counties, as well as the Southern  Tier and Northwestern, PA. Doyle will monitor and service the 450 alarm accounts, while Austin will maintain its locksmithing operations.

“Both the Hart family in Albany and the Austin and Barie families in Olean have developed terrific customer and employee relationships. We are proud to carry on their respective traditions of providing quality service and being great paces to work," John Doyle added.

These mergers mark Doyle’s third and fourth acquisitions of 2020, having previously acquired Titan Security in Syracuse, NY and Eltec Security in Geneva, NY and their fifth acquisition since celebrating its historic 100th anniversary on March 17, 2019.
