Cypress Integration Solutions has announced that Jon Uren has been named company Vice President and Chief Operations Officer, effective immediately.

Cypress Founder Tony Diodato, who recently resumed his role as company President and CEO, is reorganizing the company structure this year, following the loss of former CEO Paul Ahern. Ahern passed away in January 2023 following a battle with liver and pancreatic cancer. Uren is a veteran of Cypress who filled a crucial role in maintaining company operations, especially during Ahern’s illness.

“I am pleased to announce the advancement of Jon Uren to Vice President and COO of Cypress Computer Systems, Inc. (Cypress Integration Solutions),” said Diodato. “Over the past 14 years of employment, Jon has held many positions in manufacturing, engineering, and management, and he is our most experienced staff member. I have the utmost confidence in his ability to continue to take on the next level of challenges, as he has done over his career here at Cypress.”

Uren’s tenure with Cypress has included roles such as Product Development Engineer, Engineering Coordinator, and most recently, Operations Manager. In addition, he works with Cypress interns and is known as a leader within the Lapeer, Michigan community where Cypress is based, for his volunteer work mentoring and coaching youth through FIRST Robotics teams.

“I look forward to our continuing collaboration as Jon brings new energy and passion not only to our company, but to the Security Industry as well,” said Diodato.

Further staff changes will be announced in the weeks ahead as Cypress leaders work to seamlessly continue serving customers and providing the industry with access control integration solutions.

Both Uren and Diodato will be on site at ISC West in Cypress Booth #5060, where staff members will be remembering Ahern with a memorial tribute.
