Lapeer, MI, Feb. 13, 2023 — Cypress Integration Solutions has announced that Tony Diodato has resumed his role as company CEO and president, effective immediately. Diodato founded Cypress in 1983.

Former Cypress CEO Paul Ahern passed away in January 2023, following a battle with liver and pancreatic cancer. Diodato and Ahern had been business partners for the past 20 years.

“I was thrilled when Paul joined the Cypress team. His leadership took the company to lofty heights,” said Diodato. “We shared a passion and vision for making the world a safer place through technology, and Paul helped me create a stable vehicle to provide that technology to customers around the world. His absence is deeply felt here, as well as within the security industry.”

Having Ahern at the helm allowed him to focus on developing the company’s engineering department, said Diodato, noting that he is returning to his former role with renewed faith in the mission he and Ahern shared.

Other staff changes will be announced in the weeks ahead, and Diodato invites those who were accustomed to contacting Paul to reach out to him. He will also be on site at ISC West with the company, in Booth 5060, where staff members will be remembering Ahern with a memorial.

“Our thoughts are with Paul’s wife and children: Kim, Brien, Anna and husband Brad, and granddaughter Juniper, who will always be part of our Cypress family,” said Diodato. “Paul’s spirit will remain a guiding light as we continue our journey.”
