Annual event also featured a keynote speech from Shark Tank's Robert Herjavec, as well as a show from Penn & Teller

LAS VEGAS - Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) held its annual Owners Forum event on April 1, the day before ISC West in Las Vegas, as the company launched its 50th anniversary celebration at the Fontainebleu Hotel.

The event kicked off with an insightful chat between DMP CEO Rick Britton and industry icon Ben Cornett, who offered the integrator executives in attendance some sage advice on building their sales organizations.

“The toughest part is to realize that training and recruiting are not one-time deals,” Cornett said to a packed room of more than 500 DMP owners and partners. “Recruiting is always happening. If you find someone who has great talent, you make a spot for them in your organization. So many people do a great job of training someone once and then never train them again.”

The highlight of the event was a keynote speech and ensuing Rick Britton one-on-one interview with Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec. Herjavec’s speech focused on his journey from poverty in Yugoslavia to successful businessman, investor, and TV star. Afterward, he chatted with Britton about the 50-year journey of DMP.

Another staple of the Owners Forum is DMP’s annual dealer awards. The following companies were honored:

DMP also recognized Dealers of the Year for certain product categories, celebrating the use of these various products:

Dealer of the Year award winners were announced for certain vertical markets, including Banking Dealer of the Year, Securitas Technology, and Retail Dealer of the Year, OWL Services.

Each year, the New Dealer of the Year is celebrated. This year it was awarded to SAV Digital Environments. The Community Service Dealer Award was given to Tel-Tec Security Systems.

The company also honored its “Silver, Gold Platinum and Diamond” Dealers - the top dealers in terms of sales.

DMP is planning for a 50th anniversary celebration on June 12 at is Springfield, Mo., headquarters.
