Enhanced People Screening Solutions for Loss Prevention and Workplace Safety Applications detect small and non-metallic items

Ashburn, VA. – June 24 2021 – Thruvision, a provider of next generation people screening solutions, announced today the launch of its expanded LPC (Loss Prevention Camera) suite of people screening solutions which address loss prevention and workplace safety requirements at distribution and fulfillment centers in the e-commerce market, and data centers in the technology sector.

A growing number of leading supply chain firms have deployed Thruvision for loss prevention and workplace safety applications, including FedEx, Fanatics, CEVA Logistics, SONY, and major retailers like Tesco, NEXT, ASOS and The Hut Group.

The new product range consists of three models, all of which incorporate Thruvision’s proprietary passive terahertz detection technology to safely and reliably detect metallic and non-metallic items, concealed in a person’s clothing, at distances up to 9 feet.

  • LPC4 - Thruvision’s entry model for loss prevention and workplace safety people screening. It offers full body imaging and is ideal for detection of larger metallic and non-metallic items.
  • LPC8 - Thruvision’s most popular configuration, the LPC8’s high performance sensors can detect smaller objects that are often the target of criminal activity at distribution and fulfillment centers.
  • LPC16 – Thruvision’s most advanced model, the LPC16’s extra detection sensitivity means it can detect very small, concealed objects such as pills, jewelry and USB sticks.

Developed from TSA “vetted and approved” technology, the LPC range also reliably detects guns, knives and other weapons, helping improve workplace safety.

All three products have a compact, plug-and-play design that enables customers to immediately use them in a wide variety of workplace environments, and to redeploy them easily to meet changing safety and security requirements.

“As e-commerce grows exponentially, loss prevention and workplace safety at distribution centers and fulfillment centers is now a major concern for businesses globally,” commented Colin Evans, Thruvision’s CEO. Mr. Evans added: “Our new LPC product range combines unique sensor technology to provide safe, respectful people screening that metal detectors and other methods simply cannot.”

Based on patented technology developed in conjunction with the European Space Agency, Thruvision eliminates the need for physical pat-downs of employees. This means that health and safety risks due to COVID-19 are removed by providing security screening at a distance between the operator and employee that exceeds the CDC guidelines of 6 feet. Thruvision technology emits no radiation; instead, it detects when a concealed object is blocking a person’s natural heat energy.  It accurately shows the size, shape and location of a concealed object, regardless of the material, without revealing any information about the person’s gender or anatomy.
