ADT has expanded the availability of its DIY home security offering with the addition of ADT Blu to Walmart.com.

The company said the move marks a milestone in expanding its product offerings through a major retail channel while supporting its focus on the DIY security market.

ADT Blu is a self-installed home security system that customers can set up and manage through the ADT+ app. The app allows users to arm and disarm the system, view live video and receive notifications when people, packages, animals and vehicles are detected.

Customers can expand their ADT Blu system over time by adding devices as their needs change. The company said the system can be used for monitoring routine activity such as package deliveries as well as helping identify unexpected situations around the home.

ADT Blu does not require a long-term contract or a technician visit for installation. The system also offers flexible monitoring options, including 24/7 professional monitoring through ADT’s company-owned and operated monitoring centers or self-monitoring.

“Bringing ADT Blu to Walmart.com makes it easier for consumers nationwide to purchase a DIY security system that’s backed by a company with more than 150 years of experience in home security,” said Kim Miller, ADT’s Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. “Every new retail channel introduces ADT Blu to more consumers and expands access to a solution that offers flexibility and peace of mind.”

Tomas Ponce De Leon, Vice President, Walmart U.S. Seller Acquisition and Onboarding, said adding ADT to Walmart Marketplace expands the retailer’s assortment and provides customers with another way to shop for the brand’s security and smart home products.
