Charlotte, North Carolina Ć¢ā¬ā April 25, 2008 Ć¢ā¬ā Bill Boyd, former CEO of Muzak has recently joined the Board of Directors of iVerify.US Inc, a Charlotte based interactive video monitoring company.
Boyd first joined Muzak in 1968 as an entry-level sales representative. The following year he was appointed general manager of the company's Chicago affiliate and was subsequently elected vice president of Muzak's owned operations in 1972. In 1976, Boyd left Muzak's corporate Chicago office to manage the company's affiliate in Minneapolis. Six years later he purchased Muzak's affiliate in Charlotte and eventually purchased and managed other Muzak franchises throughout the 1980's, consistently breaking records for franchise growth.
In 1996, Boyd sold his franchises and retired, but six months later he returned to serve as the chair of Muzak's board of directors. Shortly thereafter he became the company's CEO. During Boyd's four-year tenure as CEO, Muzak grew from $80 million in revenue to $250 million. In 2001, he retired as the company's CEO and was named the Ernst and Young Regional Entrepreneur of the Year for the Southeast region. Boyd retired from Muzak's board of directors in 2006.

As the leading provider of guard replacement services through interactive video and audio monitoring, iVerify has become increasingly visible in recent months. In December, iVerify announced a $21 million capital round and the acquisition of Smart Interactive Systems, the video monitoring business of Magal Security Systems Ltd., an $8.5 million purchase. Having barely digested the acquisition, iVerify purchased a 40,000 square foot building on a 15 acre campus in Charlotte to accommodate the tremendous amount of growth they have been experiencing. The new, cutting-edge facility will house a state-of-the-art Video Monitoring Center, servicing iVerify's national client base and will be home to the corporate office. The building will also include an interactive store and bank, showcasing iVerify's offerings and solutions at work.
