Matrox Imaging announced the Matrox Morphis for PC/104- Plus, a capture board with a dual video decoder architecture and a real-time JPEG2000 compression/decompression engine. This board is the ideal video acquisition option for the Matrox 4Sight M, a highly integrated platform that is used to develop digital video recorders (DVRs) or network/web-enabled video servers for remote surveillance.

"The Matrox Morphis for PC/104- Plus is one of the first capture boards to offer JPEG2000 hardware acceleration for the PC/104- Plus form factor." Says Fabio Perelli, Product Manager for Frame Grabbers and Stand-alone Systems.

Matrox Morphis for PC/104-Plus
Featuring a dual decoder design, the Matrox Morphis for PC/104- Plus supports ultra-fast channel switching between multiple video inputs, making it ideal for video surveillance applications. Additionally, the on-board JPEG2000 hardware accelerator facilitates real-time image archiving and transmission for surveillance applications.

The Matrox Morphis for PC/104- Plus captures from NTSC, PAL, RS-170 and CCIR video sources, and supports simultaneous acquisition of two live video streams. The board’s scalable design permits users to connect and switch between a maximum of 16 CVBS, 8 Y/C or a combination of inputs.

Software support is available for Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP, and consists of the field-proven, hardware-independent Matrox Imaging Library (MIL)/ActiveMIL or MIL-Lite/ActiveMIL-Lite development toolkits for creating custom applications.

Matrox 4Sight M
Matrox 4Sight M is equipped with either an Embedded Intel Celeron M or Pentium M processor. It also features an ATA-100 hard drive, and supports USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet (GbE).

The Matrox Morphis for PC/104- Plus is now shipping. It is available in three configurations: capture board with two video decoders ($595 USD, OEM quantity 1), JPEG2000 accelerator only ($595 USD, OEM quantity 1), and capture board with two video decoders and JPEG2000 accelerator ($995 USD, OEM quantity 1).
