Foster-Miller Announces New $51.5 Million TALON Contract

WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Foster-Miller, Inc., a QinetiQ North America company, announced today that it has received $51.5 million of new orders, on its $150 Million IDIQ (indefinite delivery / indefinite quantity) contract, for over 250 more TALON(R) robots and replacement parts from the Robotic Systems Joint Program Office administered by the Naval Air Warfare Training Systems Division (NAVAIR). Fifty robots have already been delivered against these contracts and the balance will be shipped this year.

The contract announcement was made today in Washington at the Unmanned Systems of North America (AUVSI) conference where Foster-Miller is displaying its family of robots, including TALON EOD, TALON Hazmat, and TALON SWORDS, the first armed robot with a US Army safety confirmation and urgent material release, now with US forces in Iraq .

In May, Foster-Miller announced the increase in its NAVAIR contract from $63.9 to $150 million, of this the fully funded contract value is now $115.4 million and is expected to rise further.
