The Security Industry Association (SIA) has named Stephenie Haldane, vice president of end user sales at HID, as the recipient of its 2026 Progress Award, recognizing her efforts to advance opportunities for women in the security industry.
Presented by SIA’s Women in Security Forum (WISF), the award recognizes individuals who help pave the way for women to succeed in the security industry. Haldane will receive the award Nov. 4 during SIA Honors Night in New York City, held in conjunction with ISC East.
Haldane brings nearly three decades of experience in sales, business development and team leadership across the security industry. At HID, she leads efforts to strengthen customer engagement, grow key vertical markets and bring modern physical access solutions to end users. Before joining HID, she launched a new division for ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions focused on electronic access control for the senior living market. Her experience also includes physical access control, real-time location systems (RTLS), mobile credentials, new construction and product development.
Beyond her professional responsibilities, Haldane serves on the board of the Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST), where she leads campus outreach. She is also a member of the SIA WISF SupportHER Subcommittee and mentors through SIA’s RISE community and HID’s mentorship program.
Haldane has spoken at ISC West, Security LeadHER, AcceleRISE and PSA TEC and participates in industry panels and podcasts focused on leadership, allyship and the future security workforce. She also organized male allyship sessions at HID’s offices in Austin, Texas, featuring SIA CEO Don Erickson, ASIS International CEO Bill Tenney and Electronic Security Association CEO Merlin Guilbeau. Haldane is also a 2026 SIA WISF Power 100 honoree.
“I am honored to receive the SIA Progress Award. Real progress takes intentional effort: opening doors for women, making room for new voices and helping students see a future for themselves in the security industry,” said Haldane. “I am grateful for the people who have supported and worked alongside me. I remain committed to helping build a stronger, more inclusive workforce for my granddaughter and all those who come behind her.”
SIA Board of Directors Chair Mike Mathes said Haldane’s work supports the industry's future by creating opportunities for others and connecting college students with security career opportunities.
“By engaging allies, advancing opportunities for women and helping attract the next generation of talent, she is strengthening our entire industry. We’re proud to recognize her with the 2026 SIA Progress Award,” Mathes said.
The Progress Award recognizes SIA members who demonstrate excellence in advancing opportunities and success for women in the security industry. Recipients are selected based on their contributions to fostering women in the industry, promoting professional growth through mentorship or sponsorship, receiving recognition for related activities and demonstrating high levels of professionalism and integrity.
SIA Honors Night will take place Nov. 4 at City Winery in New York City. The event brings together security industry professionals for networking, entertainment, food and drinks and recognition of industry leadership, commitment and service. Proceeds from the event will benefit FAST.
In addition to the Progress Award, SIA will present the 2026 Insightful Practitioner Award and Jay Hauhn Excellence in Partnerships Award during the event.
