SD&I unveils the 2018 Fast50 at ISC West

April 12, 2018
Maryland-based integrator TIC named fastest-growing

Las Vegas - Security Dealer & Integrator (SD&I) magazine unveiled its seventh annual Fast50 on Wednesday at ISC West, and TIC of Bethesda, Md., was named as the North America's fastest-growing security integrator. The magazine's Editor in Chief, Paul Rothman, also revealed the full list of 50 fast-growing firms, and honored the top five companies on stage at the event, which was sponsored by the Security Industry Association.

Thanks to its expertise in the government market, TIC has leveraged a GSA schedule and its status as a veteran-owned small business to unprecedented growth rates over the past two years. CEO Roger Echeandia, President Derek Radoski, CPP, and Director of Operations Tommy Lorence accepted the award on behalf of TIC. The company was featured as the cover story in the April issue of SD&I. Radoski, whose career started next to Echeandia on the warehouse floor of ADI in the early 1990s, made a rousing speech to thank people from the industry who have helped both of them over the course of their careers, including mentors at ADI and beyond, and cited the work they have done with access control vendor Identiv. Watch the full video of his acceptance speech.

The rest of the top five fastest-growing security integrators were also honored on stage, and all four were featured with an article in the aforementioned SD&I April issue:

No. 2 Surveillance Systems Inc. (SSI) of Rocklin, Calif., leveraged two huge contract wins with Wynn and MGM Resorts to power its recent growth. Company President Todd Flowers accepted the award on stage.

No. 3 Security 101's Charlotte franchise was actually one of the original Security 101 franchises. It has taken several years, but the company has steadily grown to reach this new plateau. VP of Operations Aaron Alexander accepted the award.

No. 4 DynaFire of Florida is the first fire and life safety-focused company to crack the SD&I Fast50. Company President Steven Hatch was joined on stage by his family - all of whom play key roles in the business - including Donna Hatch, Contracts Specialist; Morgan Hatch and Stevie Hatch, Sales Reps; and Luke Geary, New Construction Sales Manager.

No. 5 is no stranger to fast growth in the security industry. Convergint Technologies has leveraged an extremely active M&A strategy to power and maintain its growth; however, its skill in integrating each of those companies into the greater whole is second to none. Executive VP Mike Mathes accepted the award on Convergint’s behalf.
